Sequoia NATIONAL PARK, CALIFORNIA

We left originally left for Yosemite. It was meant to snow and I was excited to see the park in transition between autumn and winter. But when we got there it was raining and half of the roads were closed. Then, while wandering through one of the main fields, we realised we'd left the keys in the car. As we waited for roadside assistance in the rain, we started to think about the possibility of going elsewhere. Somewhere the sun would be out. By the time we were back in the car, we had decided to head down to Sequoia for sunrise. So, the next morning we woke up at 02:25 and drove four hours south. The sun didn't come out for long there either, but as the fog rolled across the park, the views from the sky and amongst the trees were special. A fleeting trip, but one for the books nonetheless.
